'Florals for spring. Groundbreaking.'

- Miranda Priestly

It's spring! Finally it's time to take out the skirts, shorts and sandals for the onset of warm, sunny weather. Spring time is synonymous with blooming Jacarandas, longer sunnier days and a nice change from hot to iced coffee (for me at least).

My favourite time of day is from 3 'til 4 pm. The sun shines through my window and illuminates my room with golden silhouettes of foliage from the trees right outside. It becomes too bright to sit at my desk, so I migrate to sit on my bed and enjoy the breeze coming through the open glass door. Then when the sun starts to set, the best place to be is our balcony on the top level of the house which overlooks the hills of the suburbs, the view of the sky above them is streaked with either baby pink and cyan or a graduated dark blue to light rose.

I took advantage of this sunset lighting this week and did a lil photoshoot of the clothes and accessories from a few shopping trips this season.

NOTE: all the clothes on this list are from Zara. I think I'm in love with Zara, and it's a very very unhealthy relationship.

Harry Styles Pants

FINALLY I GOT THEM. I've been searching far and wide, and finally I snagged a pair to emulate the ever fashionable, the ever stylish - Harry Styles. He wore the aforementioned [black] wide-leg pants in his 'Two Ghosts' studio recording video, and he was just absolutely rocking them.

These pants are blue with vertical white stripes and wow do they look funky and edgy. As soon as I tried them on I fell in looove. They're so comfy…

I paired them with one of the two viscose shirts I also bought, which are so soft mmmmm, and also some hoop earrings from Lovisa that are totally not something I usually wear, but are super fashion rn and frame your face which is nice.

Zara pastel bag

Mum got this bag from Zara in Singapore and I am the lucky receiver! This bag is so aesthetic, it elevates an outfit to its chic-est level. It even looks aesthetic sitting on my shelf. The ribbon and the gold chain add that little je ne sais quoi!

Rose Gold Sunglasses

My favvvvs at the moment, even if I've seen another TWO people wear the exact same ones :/

They are reflective rose gold sunglasses that match the aesthetic bag and the second pair of rose gold earrings I got from Lovisa (in the last outfit of the post). So, it’s a stunner combination when all three accessories are combined.

Audrey Hepburn Dress

I call this an 'Audrey Hepburn' dress because the silhouette of it is very reminiscent of the 1950-60s dresses which I think was the Audrey Hepburn era <3

I know I know that the dresses had so many more layers of fabric than this Zara dress does. I did say it was just the silhouette :)

BUT, I'm kind of undecided how to wear it. What I mean: is it a casual dress that I can put some sneakers and sunnies on and head out the door, or is it a dress for dressing up? For this post, I evidently put on heels and hoop earrings to 'dress it up' a little but I want to wear it more often than that, you know?

Let me know what you reckon 😊

Elizabeth Arden Lipstick

This is also an accessory that my mum brought from overseas. It’s a really moisturising lipstick from Elizabeth Arden, colour Nude 43.

I've worn it a couple of times and it's really subtle, how I like my lipstick to be, because honestly, I always need my Burt's Bees lip balm with me at all times, Vanilla flavour please. But this lipstick is so feminine and delicate it adds a bit of class to any look.

Floral shirt

Now THIS is a shirt I wear on a very regular basis. It's so nice and airy, flowery in time for spring!

It has super interesting sleeves, they're a little puffy and have a groovy cut. I feel like it’s a shirt that you can quickly put on and run out the door, and take a little elegance with you at the same time.

I’m wearing the rose gold sunnies and the second pair of earrings from Lovisa, long triangular ones which are also rose gold.

SO I hope this post was interesting! I want to keep doing more of these because it was surprisingly so entertaining, like having a fashion show or styling session… haha I'm going to need something entertaining to do during the upcoming 3 months of holidays!

Thanks for reading :)

All the love N <3
