Brisbane feels like walking through warm milk.

That's the feeling you get when you walk out of the airport at 7am on a Monday morning in February.

Sooooo what have I noticed within the few hours of me being home for the first time in 7 months…

The distance between places is much much shorter. If I want to go to the city, it’s a mere 15-minute walk to the bus and a 20-minute ride. Actual heaven compared to 1.5hr train and 40-minute metro. I want to cry tears of joy.

The accessibility. If you want to go places you can, public transport is too easy. And there's a car for me to use at home!

The fearlessness. I can now send emails with only 2 quick proofreads. That’s what I call an improvement.

After being alone, I now know what I want and I know I can survive by myself.

Honestly, I'm proud of myself for surviving and actually going on exchange: what an amazing feeling.

But let's be real, although I can finally eat a legitimate avocado, I kinda miss the snow now. Sad.
